Terms and Conditions

Version 2.12 — Last updated: 7 October 2026

Changelog compared to version 2.11

  • Art. 3.10, first point: some partners have a discount code from us alongside their referral code. It only works with an annual subscription and only for new customers, cannot be combined with another code, and also counts as that partner's referral code at checkout; if you were already linked to another partner's referral code, that one takes precedence (you still get the discount). A referral code on its own still gives no discount. The 90-day window does not apply to such a discount code; you can only use it with your first paid subscription. This only applies if you use such a discount code; for everyone else nothing changes, so we are not asking you to accept again

Changelog compared to version 2.10

  • New art. 3.10 on partner referral codes: a code gives no discount, you can use one and it is fixed afterwards, it does not apply retroactively, and abuse may lead to your subscription being ended. This article only applies if you use a referral code; for everyone else nothing changes, so we are not asking you to accept again. If you enter a code, the code field points you to this article

Changelog compared to version 2.9

  • Art. 14: our registered address has changed to Le Mairekade 77, 1013 CB Amsterdam. This is a factual change, not a material change within the meaning of art. 12, so we are not asking you to accept again

Changelog compared to version 2.8

  • Art. 3.3 names the correct payment service provider. Our counterparty is Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd in Ireland, not Stripe, Inc. in the United States; to carry out the payment Stripe transfers data to Stripe, LLC in the US. This is a factual correction — your price, your rights and your ability to cancel are unaffected — and therefore not a material change within the meaning of art. 12
  • We are not asking you to accept again for this correction. Art. 12 describes re-acceptance at your next sign-in; that procedure belongs to a substantive change to your rights or obligations, and this is not one — only the name of the payment service provider we contract with changes

Changelog compared with version 2.7

  • Art 6.1 revised. The provision claimed "delayed by up to 15 minutes" as an upper bound, understating the real delay: the external price source itself delivers prices with roughly a 15 to 20 minute delay, and the time between two refreshes adds to that. Outside an exchange's trading hours a price sits at the previous trading day's closing price. The provision no longer names a number, because a disclaimer should bound the delay rather than promise a refresh cadence that a disruption or a closed exchange won't meet; the concrete figures live in the product itself, in the explainer next to the price label

Changelog compared with version 2.6

  • VAT identification number NL869559771B01 added to the provider's identification details. Art. 6:230m(1)(b) of the Dutch Civil Code requires a trader selling to consumers at a distance to identify itself, VAT number included; the number appeared in no legal document and nowhere in the product until now

Changelog compared with version 2.5

  • Art 13 revised: the reference to the European Commission's ODR platform has been removed. That platform was shut down on 20 July 2025 and has no European successor, which meant we were sending consumers to a dead link at the very moment they wanted to raise a dispute. In its place: the complaints route with concrete response times, and a statement that we are not affiliated with a disputes committee

Changelog compared with version 2.4

  • Art 3.9 extended with the concrete end date of the beta phase (7 September 2026) and with how the notice period works: for anyone signing up on or after 1 September 2026 the provision itself counts as the notice, because the end date is already known when these Terms are accepted; anyone who signed up before that date receives the notice by email and then keeps free access for at least 30 days
  • The introductory beta notice at art 3 states the same end date

Changelog compared with version 2.3

  • Art 3 given an introductory beta notice and art 3.9 added: during the beta phase the service is free and requires no payment method; after the beta, continued use is only possible with an actively concluded paid subscription; no automatic charges for beta users; advance notice and the ability to export

Changelog compared with version 2.2

  • Art 3.1 revised: a 7-day trial period with a mandatory payment method at the start and automatic transition to a paid subscription, including an email reminder before the first charge

Changelog compared with version 2.1

  • Art 5.5 added: feedback and optional, consent-based data sharing for product improvement
  • Art 6.7 added: beta phase (as-is, under development, no availability guarantee)

Changelog compared with version 2.0

  • Art 4.2 added: best-efforts obligation clarification
  • Art 6.2 tightened: explicitly an “informational tool”, no guarantee as to the accuracy of calculations
  • Art 10.3 added: the limitation of liability also applies outside contract (art. 6:162 Dutch Civil Code)

Changelog compared with version 1.0 (version 2.0)

  • Exclusion of liability rewritten: direct damage no longer fully excluded (in line with the grey list, art. 6:237(f) Dutch Civil Code)
  • Right of withdrawal (14-day cooling-off period) added, with a waiver for immediate delivery of a digital service
  • Amendment clause: active acceptance at the next sign-in instead of tacit acceptance
  • Dispute resolution: EU consumer law and an ODR reference added for Belgian and other EU users
  • Financial disclaimers extended: AFM/FSMA statement, source-data liability and tax exclusion

These terms and conditions (“Terms”) apply to the use of the online platform StockQuarters, offered by StockQuarters Capital VOF, established in Amsterdam, Chamber of Commerce number 42067834, VAT identification number NL869559771B01 (“StockQuarters”, “we”, “us”).

By creating an account or using our service, you agree to these Terms.

1. What is StockQuarters?

StockQuarters is a portfolio tracker that gives you insight into your investments. You upload a CSV or PDF file from your broker yourself, and we show you a dashboard with your positions, P&L, dividends and diversification.

StockQuarters is not a financial adviser, asset manager or investment firm. We offer only a tool to visualise your own investment data. We give no investment advice, recommendations or advice to buy, sell or hold financial instruments.

2. Account

2.1 Creating an account

To use StockQuarters you need an account. You sign in with a one-time verification code (OTP) sent to your email address. No passwords are stored. You are responsible for securing access to your email account. An account is strictly personal and may not be shared.

2.2 Accurate details

You declare that the details you provide on registration are accurate and complete.

2.3 Minimum age

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. When creating an account you declare that you are 18 or older. StockQuarters reserves the right to delete accounts where there is well-founded doubt about the user's age.

3. Subscription and payment

Please note — beta phase. StockQuarters is currently in a free beta phase. For as long as the beta lasts, the service is free, you do not need to provide a payment method, and the provisions on the trial period (art. 3.1), payment (art. 3.3) and automatic renewal (art. 3.4) do not yet apply. What applies during and after the beta phase is set out in art. 3.9. The beta phase ends on 7 September 2026.

3.1 Free trial period

This provision applies after the beta phase ends (see art. 3.9). New users receive a free trial period of 7 days. When starting the trial you provide a valid payment method; nothing is charged during the trial. After the 7 days the trial automatically converts into a paid subscription at the rate you chose, unless you cancel before the end of the trial (see art. 3.5). We send you a reminder by email before the first charge.

3.2 Prices

Current prices are listed at stockquarters.nl/pricing. At the time these Terms were published:

  • Monthly subscription: €5.99 per month
  • Annual subscription: €59.00 per year

All prices include VAT.

3.3 Payment

Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd (Ireland). We accept the payment methods Stripe makes available (including credit card and iDEAL).

3.4 Automatic renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of the subscription period (monthly or annually), unless you cancel the subscription beforehand.

3.5 Cancelling

You can cancel your subscription at any time via the settings page in the app. After cancelling you keep access until the end of the current subscription period.

3.6 Refunds

  • Monthly subscriptions: no refund. You keep access until the end of the current month.
  • Annual subscriptions: if you cancel within 14 days of the annual payment, you receive a full refund. After 14 days, no refund.
  • Trial period: the trial is free; no refund applies.

3.7 Price changes

We reserve the right to adjust prices. In the event of a price change we notify you by email at least 30 days in advance. The changed price applies from the next renewal date. You can cancel your subscription before that date if you do not agree.

3.8 Right of withdrawal

Under Dutch distance-selling law you have, as a consumer, a 14-day cooling-off period after taking out a paid subscription. Because StockQuarters is a digital service made available immediately after payment, by taking out your subscription you agree that delivery starts immediately. In doing so you expressly waive your right of withdrawal. You confirm this when taking out your subscription.

3.9 Beta phase and transition to a paid subscription

StockQuarters is currently offered in a beta phase. For as long as the beta phase lasts:

  • use of the service is free and you provide no payment method;
  • you are a test user: you use a service that is still under development and you help us improve it (see also art. 6.7);
  • no amounts are charged and the provisions on the trial period and automatic renewal (art. 3.1 and 3.4) do not apply.

The beta phase is temporary. We may end the beta phase and decide whether we continue the service afterwards as a paid service. If we end the beta phase — or decide not to continue the service — we announce this at least 30 days in advance by email and you can export your data (art. 5.3).

End date. The beta phase ends on 7 September 2026. If you sign up on or after 1 September 2026, this provision itself counts as the notice referred to in the previous paragraph: the end date is fixed and known to you at the moment you accept these Terms. If you signed up before 1 September 2026, you receive the notice by email and keep free access for at least 30 days after that notice, even if that period runs past the end date.

After the beta phase ends, continued use of the service is only possible with a paid subscription as described in this article 3. The following applies expressly:

  • You do not enter into a paid subscription automatically. Nothing is charged unless you actively take out a subscription yourself, providing a payment method and giving your agreement.
  • If you do not take out a subscription, your access ends on the date stated in the notice. This costs you nothing.
  • You can export your data before that date (art. 5.3). We keep your account and data available for at least 30 days afterwards, so you can still export it or still take out a subscription. If you delete your account, or this period expires, your data is erased as described in our Privacy Policy.

This provision does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

3.10 Referral codes

StockQuarters partners may share a referral code. If you use one, the following applies:

  • No discount from the referral itself. A referral code changes nothing about your price, your subscription or your rights. Some partners also have a discount code from us. Such a discount code only works with an annual subscription and only for new customers, and cannot be combined with another code. If you use it at checkout, you get the discount that belongs to that code, and it also counts as that partner's referral code. If you were already linked to another partner's referral code, that one takes precedence: you still get the discount, but you do not count as a referral of the discount-code partner. If you take out a paid subscription using a code, the partner receives a fee from us.
  • One code per customer, no stacking. You can use one referral code. The first valid code linked to your account is decisive and cannot be changed afterwards or supplemented with another code.
  • Not retroactive. A code can only be linked before your first payment and within 90 days of creating your account. If you previously held a paid subscription with us, you can no longer use a code. A code cannot be linked after the fact. The 90-day window does not apply to a partner's discount code that you use at checkout; you can only use that code with your first paid subscription.
  • Abuse. Only use a code if you want a subscription of your own accord. You may not use a code while a partner reimburses all or part of your subscription fee, create accounts to earn a partner a fee, or use multiple accounts for that purpose. If we establish abuse, we may end your subscription. We will tell you by email, stating the reason, and refund the unexpired part of any prepaid period pro rata.
  • Your data. What we record when you use a code, and the fact that the partner never sees who you are, is explained in our Privacy Policy (§2.10).

4. Use of the service

4.1 Permitted use

You may use StockQuarters only for personal, non-commercial use: tracking and analysing your own investment portfolio.

4.2 Best-efforts obligation

All obligations of StockQuarters are best-efforts obligations. We make every effort to keep the service working properly, but do not guarantee any specific result. This applies in particular to the accuracy of calculations, the availability of price data and the operation of connections with external systems.

4.3 Not permitted

It is not permitted to:

  • Use the service for commercial purposes without our written permission
  • Reverse-engineer or decompile the service, or attempt to obtain its source code
  • Circumvent or test the security of the service
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to collect data from StockQuarters
  • Infringe the intellectual property rights of StockQuarters
  • Use the service in a way that conflicts with applicable laws or regulations

5. Your data

5.1 Ownership

The financial data you upload remains your property at all times. We claim no ownership rights over your transaction data, positions or other data you provide.

5.2 Licence

By uploading data you give us a limited licence to process it solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not use your data for other purposes.

5.3 Export

You can export your data at any time as a CSV file via the export function in the app.

5.4 Deletion

When you delete your account, all your data (transactions, positions, uploaded files) is permanently deleted. This is irreversible. See our Privacy Policy for retention periods.

5.5 Feedback and product improvement

If you voluntarily send us feedback, suggestions or error reports, we may use these to improve the service, without any compensation or obligation in return.

You can also choose to share anonymised sample exports from your broker so that we can improve our import function. This is entirely optional, is separate from the licence in article 5.2, and happens only with your separate consent. You can withdraw this consent at any time. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle this.

6. Accuracy and disclaimer

6.1 Prices

StockQuarters shows price data from external sources. These prices are delayed and never live: depending on the exchange and the moment, they may be anywhere from a few minutes to several hours old. Outside the trading hours of the exchange concerned we show the previous trading day's closing price. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of price data.

6.2 Calculations

StockQuarters is an informational tool. P&L calculations, dividend overviews, return percentages and other calculations are indicative only and should not serve as a basis for financial decisions. They may differ from the calculations of your broker or tax authority because of differences in calculation method, rounding, exchange rates or missing data. StockQuarters does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of these calculations.

6.3 No financial advice

StockQuarters provides no financial advice. Nothing in our service may be construed as a recommendation to buy, sell or hold securities. Consult a licensed financial adviser for investment decisions.

6.4 No tax advice

Any tax-related features (such as box 3 overviews) are indicative only and do not constitute tax advice. StockQuarters is not liable for the tax consequences of incorrect or incomplete calculations. Consult a tax adviser for your tax return.

6.5 No supervision

StockQuarters is not supervised by the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM), the Belgian Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA), De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) or any other financial supervisory authority. StockQuarters is not an investment firm within the meaning of the Dutch Financial Supervision Act (Wft) or the Belgian financial supervision legislation.

6.6 Source data

Price data is obtained from external data providers. StockQuarters has no control over the accuracy, completeness or availability of this source data and is not liable for errors or delays in the prices supplied.

6.7 Beta phase

The service may be offered in a beta or trial phase. During the beta:

  • the service is still under development and may contain errors, interruptions or unexpected behaviour;
  • features may change, temporarily fail or disappear;
  • we offer the service “as is”, with no guarantee of availability or accuracy.

Always check important data yourself and do not rely solely on the service during the beta.

7. Availability

We aim for high availability of the service, but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for damage resulting from temporary unavailability, maintenance or failures at third parties (hosting, price-data providers, payment processors).

8. Force majeure

StockQuarters is not liable for failures to perform obligations as a result of circumstances beyond our reasonable control. These include: outages or failures at hosting providers (Vercel, Supabase), outages or unavailability of price-data APIs, internet outages, changes in laws or regulations, sanctions legislation blocking access to certain markets or data, DDoS attacks, and natural disasters.

9. Intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in the StockQuarters service, including the source code, the design, the brand name, the logo and the documentation, belong to StockQuarters Capital VOF. Copying, modifying or distributing these without our written permission is not permitted.

10. Liability

10.1 Limitation

StockQuarters is not liable for indirect damage, consequential damage, lost profit or missed investment opportunities arising from the use of, or the inability to use, the service. This includes, but is not limited to, losses resulting from investment decisions taken on the basis of information shown in StockQuarters.

10.2 Maximum liability

The total liability of StockQuarters for direct damage is in all cases limited to the amount you paid us in subscription fees over the past 12 months.

10.3 Non-contractual liability

The limitations and exclusions in this article apply equally to claims in tort (article 6:162 Dutch Civil Code) or on any other legal basis, to the extent the law permits.

10.4 Exception

The limitations in articles 10.1, 10.2 and 10.3 do not apply to damage caused by intent or wilful recklessness on the part of StockQuarters.

11. Termination

11.1 By you

You can delete your account at any time via the settings page.

11.2 By us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you act in breach of these Terms. In the event of termination by us we inform you by email and offer you the opportunity to export your data before the account is permanently deleted, unless this is not reasonably possible given the nature of the breach.

12. Changes

We may change these Terms from time to time. In the event of material changes we notify you by email at least 30 days in advance, with a clear summary of the changes. At your next sign-in you are asked to accept the changed Terms. If you do not agree, you can cancel your account. Use of the service after acceptance counts as acceptance of the changed Terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in Amsterdam, on the understanding that consumers in the EU retain the right to bring a dispute before the court of their place of residence, in accordance with the applicable European rules (Brussels I bis Regulation (EU) 1215/2012).

Do you have a complaint about the service? Please contact us first at hello@stockquarters.nl. We acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and deal with it substantively within 30 days. If we cannot resolve it together, the route to the competent court above remains open to you. We are not affiliated with a disputes committee.
