At a glance
getquin and StockQuarters both track your investments, but your data gets in differently. With getquin you connect your accounts through Open Banking, import a file or enter transactions yourself. StockQuarters reads your broker’s export files and never asks for your login details.
Every fact about getquin comes from getquin’s own site or help centre, with the source and the day we checked it at the bottom of the article. We do not list getquin’s prices: they change, so check them at the source. StockQuarters is our own tracker; read the comparison with that in mind. More trackers side by side are in Best portfolio tracker for DEGIRO.

Where getquin is stronger
On these points getquin offers something StockQuarters does not, according to getquin’s own site:
- A free plan: getquin Free has unlimited bank and broker connections. StockQuarters only has a trial.
- Apps for iOS and Android: getquin has them next to its web app. StockQuarters works in the browser.
- A community: getquin has a feed, a stock forum and lets you share your portfolio for feedback. StockQuarters has no community.
Where StockQuarters is different
Connecting or uploading is a choice. With getquin your accounts come in through Open Banking, DEGIRO included; for that you enter your access data. StockQuarters never asks for access data: you upload your broker’s export yourself, and for an updated overview you upload a new one.
StockQuarters reads files from DEGIRO, Saxo Bank, Trading 212, Trade Republic, Bolero, Rabobank, Interactive Brokers, Lynx, and Mexem. Uploading the same file again adds no duplicate rows.
Deposits are never profit. The euro result is the value minus your net deposits, and the percentage beside it is money-weighted (Modified Dietz), with a toggle to time-weighted (TWR). We read deposits and withdrawals from the DEGIRO export too. How getquin counts deposits in its return is not stated on the pages we read. How to work it out yourself is in How to calculate your return with deposits.
Tax in the Netherlands and Belgium: StockQuarters has calculators for box 3 and the Belgian capital gains tax. The site comes in Dutch and English.
Taking your data out: you export your transactions as CSV and all your data as one file. According to getquin’s help centre, getquin currently has no export of your portfolio.
Our weak spots: there is no free version, only 7 days to try. After that it costs €5.99 per month or €59 per year (see the prices). There is no community. StockQuarters works in the browser, also on your phone.
Switching from getquin
According to getquin’s help centre, you currently cannot export your portfolio, neither in the app nor in the web app. So you cannot take your data along as a file from getquin.
What you can do: upload your broker’s export files yourself. Which brokers StockQuarters reads and which file you need for each is on our brokers page. You can also use getquin and StockQuarters side by side for a while.
Is your history in a spreadsheet, or do you track investments that are not in a broker export? Then fill in our own template (Excel or CSV) and upload that.
Which one suits whom
getquin suits people who want their accounts updated automatically, want an app for iOS or Android, are looking for a community or want to start for free.
StockQuarters suits people who do not want to share a broker login, work with their broker’s export files, want deposits kept apart from their result and want to work out Dutch box 3 or Belgian capital gains tax.
